What the store page says you do

Chained Beasts is a 1-4 player co-op gladiator roguelike. Fight chaotic battles chained to your friends. Use your chains or the arena to beat up foes in creative ways and win over the bloodthirsty crowd. Endure physical and mental injuries to defeat fearsome bosses and survive the day.

That is the Steam short description, copied here so the pitch stays in the studio’s words. The longer store text breaks the same idea into five beats:

A launch note on the same Steam page tells players to grab up to three friends. The feature essay says “gather four ferocious friends.” Together with the 1–4 player line, that is a party of four: you and three others.

Who it is for

The feature list is aimed at groups. Steam lists online co-op, shared or split screen co-op, shared or split screen, Remote Play Together, and a 4-player local tag written by players. Same-screen co-op has a hardware rule: at least one gamepad.

Steam also lists single-player, so a solo run is part of the store page. A GamesStarter review argues that the chain is at its best with other people, and that solo spacing is the weaker way to play. That argument is summarized on the co-op guide, where it stays marked as a review.

The captured screenshots are top-down arena fights with thick ink outlines. Player tags on the store page include Action Roguelike, Co-op, Hack and Slash, Top-Down, Roguelite, Local Co-Op, and 4 Player Local. Perma Death and Souls-like also appear in that tag list. They are player labels on the captured page, and this guide leaves them as labels.

The developers’ mature-content note says combat leaves visible blood sprays that stay in the environment. The arena screenshots show blood on the ground.

Where it launched

Steam’s own platform row in this capture is Windows and macOS. Linux is absent from that row. The studio game page displays logos for Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass beside the date 15 October 2026. The 15 September 2026 press release states the same lineup and adds the clock time. Platform notes, the chapter list, and the price snapshot are on the release page. PC specs and languages are on the system requirements page.

Cross-Platform Multiplayer is a Steam feature flag. The press release names the console and Game Pass versions, and it leaves shared matches between those versions and Steam unstated. Input details are on the controls page.
